Our Club Story

The Zonta Club of Northwest Cook County (NWCC) was chartered on August 31, 1982. NWCC Club members have been active in local, District, and International activities. In addition to supporting local service, advocacy, and fundraising activities, members have been involved in District and International events as well. Club members continue to attend, or host, Area meetings. The Club has been represented at most District 6 Conferences. Three members have served terms as Area 1 Director; one also appointed Secretary by District Governor and another appointed United Nations Chair by District Governor. The Club supports Districts projects, such as establishing first Zonta Club in Estonia through selling of Zonta pins, marching against domestic violence at the Madison State Capitol and donating food for food insecurity. The Club had been represented at many of the International Conventions since 1982.

Our Activities

Service projects have addressed the Zonta priorities of health, education and economic self sufficiency of women and girls. NWCC has A Young Women in Leadership award and supports the Women in Business Leadership award. Advocacy projects such as the Zonta Say No campaign (16 Days of Activism), IL HB 1252
