Our Club Story

The 99-year history of the Zonta Club of Milwaukee reflects the commitment of local women in many diverse businesses and professions to helping less fortunate women locally and worldwide to succeed in their chosen lifestyles, whether in professions or in their homes and villages – through education, mentoring, and financial assistance, in an environment safe from violence.  The Club has provided leadership, collaborated with, and financially supported like-minded organizations over the years with to improve the quality of life for women here in the greater Milwaukee community as well

as in countries around the world. Club members have been active participants in the Zonta World by attending International Conventions, serving on International Committees, serving as District 6 Governors

and on District 6 Boards, and helping to produce District Conferences and Seminars as well as Area 2 Spring Workshops. The Zonta Club of Milwaukee has nonprofit status through Zonta Foundation Inc., a 501(c) 3 corporation.

Zonta Says No Silent Walk

Our Activities

The Zonta Club of Milwaukee is part of an international organization dedicated to empowering women through service and advocacy. We support local agencies by providing school supplies, meals, and volunteer work at shelters and youth organizations. Our advocacy focuses on women’s rights and raising awareness about domestic violence.

Through our Foundation, a 501(c)(3), we raise funds via an annual fundraiser to support grants and scholarships. One-third of funds support Zonta International projects, while the rest stay local, aiding nonprofits focused on mentoring girls and preventing violence. Grants range from $1,000–$3,000 and prioritize programs that improve the lives of women and girls. In 2025, we also launched a Z Club for high school students at the University School of Milwaukee.
