Alton-Wood River
Our Club Story
The Alton-Wood River Zonta Club was chartered on April 19,1949 with twenty-three members. The Zonta Club of Alton-Wood River has historically provided service to a wide variety of projects. Since 1962, we have provided a scholarship for non-traditional female college students, locally. We also provide a Young Women in Public Affairs Scholarship. We also support Zonta International projects. For many years, our service budget has been divided between Zonta International (1/3) and local (2/3) projects. We have hosted Area 3 Spring Workshops, the latest being in 2024 and in 2023 we hosted the Fall Conference for members in District 6. We currently have 25 members.
