Our Club Story
Zonta Club of Madison is group of energetic women committed to building a better world for women and girls through advocacy and service. We currently are focusing our advocacy on achieving an Equal Rights Amendment to the WI State Constitution. Our service is focused on food insecurity, domestic violence and empowering girls through physical fitness. We take care to build strong relationships with our Zonta Club sisters which enhances our advocacy and service impact. All club members are involved in supporting our annual major fundraising event which currently is a Fall Film Festival addressing how women and girls are impacting and being impacted by climate change. We raise funds for our Zonta Madison Foundation for grants to community organizations serving women and girls as well as educational grants and scholarships to support women furthering their education.
Our Activities
The Zonta Club of Madison focuses on advocacy, service, and building strong member relationships. Our current advocacy centers on achieving an Equal Rights Amendment to the Wisconsin Constitution through public forums, ally development, and legislative engagement.
Our service efforts focus on:
- Food Insecurity – Supporting WayForward with food donations and staffing a monthly mobile pantry.
- Domestic Violence – A 25 year partnership with Dane County DAIS, assisting with events and holiday gifts, and supporting Felicia’s Donation Closet by helping distribute household items to survivors.
- Girl Empowerment – Volunteering with Girls on the Run to support race-day prep and events.
We also strengthen internal bonds through social and educational activities, including hockey games, issue-based discussions, movie nights, beach outings, wine tastings, and supporting local women’s sports teams.
