Mission & Vision

Zonta International envisions a world in which women’s rights are recognized as human rights and every woman is able to achieve her full potential. In such a world, women have access to all resources and are represented in decision making positions on an equal basis with men. In such a world, no woman lives in fear of violence.

We live out our mission by working together to build a better world for women and girls through things such as:

Advocacy – communicating issues relating to women in our local areas.

Service  – volunteering to aid in, provide for, and address specific needs for women in our local areas.

Fundraising  – doing what we can to raise awareness and monetary support to address the needs of women. This includes local scholarships, local women’s charities and shelters, women’s support groups, and supporting women on an international scale as well.

Our Global Initiatives

1. End Child Marriage

Almost 650 million women alive today were married before turning 18.

2. Say No to Gender-based Violence

About 2 in 3 women have experienced physical and/or sexual violence from an intimate partner.

3. Close the Gender Gap in Education

Every additional year of primary school increases girls’ eventual wages by 10-20%
